The Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation Updates Brand and Website Reflecting Montgomery County’s Innovation Economy
Today, MCEDC unveiled an updated brand identity and website that more fully reflects the strength, diversity, and global competitiveness of Montgomery County, Maryland.
Inspired by the intersection of people, ideas, and opportunity, MCEDC’s evolved visual identity reflects Montgomery County, Maryland, as a place where discovery and innovation thrive.
The refreshed website aligns with MCEDC’s evolving strategic direction and provides a more intuitive, user-focused experience for businesses, investors, entrepreneurs, and site selectors. The platform showcases Montgomery County’s key industry sectors, available sites and development opportunities, workforce strengths, diverse communities, and business resources, serving as a gateway for companies looking to start, grow, relocate, or invest in the County.
The brand refresh comes at a pivotal moment for MCEDC and Montgomery County. Since the organization’s leadership transition in August 2025, MCEDC’s Board of Directors, County leaders, and key stakeholders have worked to strengthen coordination and alignment across the County’s economic development ecosystem. The new brand reflects that commitment and supports ongoing efforts to elevate Montgomery County’s visibility and competitiveness in the global marketplace.
The launch also coincides with the development of Montgomery County’s Strategic Plan, a collaborative effort that MCEDC leads every 5 years to help guide business growth, talent development, innovation, and investment attraction. “This brand refresh represents a new chapter for MCEDC and Montgomery County,” said Jared Smith, President and CEO of MCEDC. “As we work alongside our partners to advance Montgomery County’s position as one of the nation’s leading innovation economies, it is important that our brand reflects the strength of our business community, the diversity of our talent, and the opportunities that make this County such a compelling place to invest and grow.”
Since starting his tenure as President & CEO in December 2025, Smith has implemented various strategic changes, working toward building a best-in class economic development team and organization. “The new website better showcases Montgomery County’s assets while providing businesses and investors with the information they need to connect with our team. Our staff is committed to helping businesses make informed decisions from start to finish—from site selection to research assistance.”
Home to more than one million residents, one of the nation’s most educated workforces, and globally recognized industries spanning life sciences, quantum computing, artificial intelligence, aerospace, defense, financial services, and advanced manufacturing, Montgomery County continues to be a premier destination for innovation, investment, and opportunity.
