Bethesda-based Employee Navigator, a leading developer of human resource management software, raised $100 million in development capital from JMI Equity and Spectrum Equity on August 4. The company’s platform supports benefits administration, onboarding, payroll integration, and employee compensation management for insurance brokers and employers nationwide. The new capital infusion will allow Employee Navigator, which was launched in 2008, to expand its HR tech offerings and strengthen its position as a top player in the productivity software space.
On August 21, Forterra, headquartered in Clarksburg and employs over 400 people, closed a $93.27 million later-stage VC round. The company develops robotic vehicle autonomy technology designed for defense, commercial, and municipal applications.
Rockville-based I-Mab Biopharma also received a $65 million investment, which was raised during its second public offering. This will enable the clinical-stage biotech company to fund ongoing clinical development of its pipeline product candidates.
August’s investments highlight the strength and diversity of Montgomery County’s innovation economy, spanning software, artificial intelligence, robotics, and life sciences. With more than $260 million raised across just eight deals, the county continues to demonstrate strong appeal to private equity investors and venture capitalists.
