MCEDC Celebrates Elana Fine’s Tenure as Board Chair
Last week, MCEDC celebrated Elana Fine’s tenure as MCEDC Board Chair and Member of the Board of Directors. Fine became Chair on July 1, 2024, after joining the Board on June 25, 2019, and has been a strong advocate for Montgomery County’s business community throughout her service.
As Chair, Fine guided MCEDC through a pivotal period for both the organization and the County. Her leadership helped MCEDC navigate a time of transition while ensuring the organization remained focused on its mission to attract, retain, and grow businesses that create quality jobs and strengthen Montgomery County’s economy. She also helped lead
MCEDC’s response to the unprecedented federal workforce reductions that impacted the region in early 2025, championing efforts to support affected workers and connect employers with the County’s highly skilled talent base. Additionally, Fine led the nationwide search for MCEDC’s new President & CEO.
At MCEDC’s recent Board of Directors meeting, Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich thanked Fine for her years of service and presented her with a proclamation recognizing her contributions to the County’s economic development ecosystem.
“Your efforts have helped to strengthen our vibrant, innovative, and competitive local economy and created further equitable, inclusive growth around the County,” said Elrich. “I extend my sincere appreciation for your contributions.”
Throughout her tenure, Fine played a critical role in advancing MCEDC’s mission and elevating Montgomery County’s reputation as a premier destination for business investment and innovation across all sectors. Her dedication, leadership, and service have helped support the growth of companies across the County’s key industries, including Research & Development, the Innovation Economy, Financial Services, and Space & Defense.
