Keep Company: Building Human Connection in the Workplace from Montgomery County, MD 

In a time when hybrid work and digital communication dominate the workplace, Keep Company is charting a different course – one grounded in the belief that meaningful human connection is essential for both individual and organizational success. Founded in Montgomery County, Maryland, by Adrienne Prentice and Claudia Naím-Burt, Keep Company is a modern coaching and mentoring platform designed to help employees build resilience, productivity, and belonging, particularly during critical stages of life such as caregiving, early-career transitions, or leadership development. 

The company’s mission was born from a simple insight: people thrive when they feel truly seen and supported. Through its platform and full-service programs, Keep Company connects employees with peers navigating similar challenges, creating spaces for empathy, reflection, and shared growth. Its offerings range from a standalone platform to comprehensive, full-service programs that help organizations tackle challenges related to engagement, retention, well-being, and skills development.  

Keep Company success shows no sign of slowing down, in fact, the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) recently announced a $500,000 investment in the company, which will be used to support Keep Company as they work to scale their platform through increased partnerships. After piloting its model in 2021, the company is now scaling to serve large enterprise clients, including global law firms and healthcare organizations. Additionally, in partnership with mental health organizations, Keep Company will release a publication this November focused on how addressing how loneliness can drive powerful outcomes in an organization.  

Rooted in Montgomery County, MD 

Keep Company has found a home in Montgomery County and is a recipient of a MOVE Grant, which offers financial support to help businesses offset expenses related to their first commercial lease or their expansion lease of at least 500 square feet. According to the Prentice and Naím-Burt, the county’s rich business ecosystem in the health, legal, and technology sectors aligns perfectly with Keep Company’s client base. “For us, this isn’t just about having an office. It’s about where that office is and what it allows us to do,” said Naím-Burt. “Our space in Montgomery County puts us in the heart of a vibrant community, surrounded by other entrepreneurs, innovators, and change-makers.” Naím-Burt and Prentice began and built their careers here, and credit Montgomery County’s entrepreneurial culture, deep talent pool, and proximity to D.C.-based policy and mental health innovation as a big part of the company’s growth.  

As Keep Company expands, they plan to deepen local partnerships, hire regionally, and continue contributing to the county’s reputation as a leader in innovation that supports both economic and human flourishing.
