Accelerating Community Excellence (ACE) Loan Program

Funded through the State of Maryland’s Video Lottery Terminal (VLT) loan program, loans are available to small, minority, and woman-owned businesses.  MCEDC partners with the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) as our fiduciary partner to assist eligible small businesses in underserved communities. The program is open to small, woman, and minority-owned businesses across the state of Maryland

Advantage Maryland (MEDAAF)

A flexible and broad-based program, Advantage Maryland (also known as MEDAAF) funds grants, loans and investments to support economic development initiatives. Uses include business attraction and retention, infrastructure support, brownfield redevelopment, arts and entertainment districts, daycare, revolving loan funds and local strategic planning. Projects must be within Priority Funding Areas and eligible industry sectors. Awards are made on a competitive basis.

Build Our Future and Neighborhood Business Works

Provides grants for infrastructure projects to advance innovation and growth in eligible technology sectors. Grants may be awarded to private companies, nonprofit entities, local governments, or colleges and universities.

Buy Maryland Cybersecurity Tax Credit (BMC)

Allows a qualified Maryland Company that purchases cybersecurity tech or services from a Qualified Maryland Cybersecurity Seller to claim up to $50,000 in tax credits in a single tax year.

Allows commercial property owners to finance energy-saving upgrades through a property tax surcharge that is repaid over the life of the upgrade.

Dingman Center Angels

Dingman Center Angels (DCA) is a Maryland-based angel investment group that provides funding to early-stage companies primarily located in the mid-Atlantic region. Typically, DCA invests between $100,000 and $250,000 in growth seed/early-stage companies and will often participate in syndicates with other local angel groups and VC’s for capital raises up to $2 million.
