Rockville Business Expansion Fund

The Business Expansion Fund is designed to support existing Rockville businesses that seek to lease or purchase additional Class A or B office, industrial, retail or flex space to accommodate their growing needs. Businesses expanding within the corporate limits of the City of Rockville are eligible to receive a grant in the amount of up to $4.00 per square foot for the additional space occupied, with a maximum grant amount of $40,000 per application. Grants are subject to the amount of available funding at the time of application. There are two application deadlines each year–September 30 and April 30.

Montgomery County SBIR/STTR – Matching Grant

The only County SBIR/STTR match program of its kind in the country, the Montgomery County SBIR/STTR Matching Grant Program helps companies that have recently received an SBIR/STTR Phase 1 or Phase 2 award for biotechnology, medical or life sciences research. Eligible companies may receive non-dilutive funding for up to $5,000 reimbursement of technical assistance costs associated with applying for a first SBIR/STTR award (BIR/STTR Phase 0), up to $25,000 to SBIR/STTR awardees who have received no more than 2 prior Phase 1 awards (SBIR/STTR Phase 1); and up to $50,000 to SBIR/STTR awardees who have received no more than 4 prior Phase 1 awards and no more than 1 prior Phase 2 award (SBIR/STTR Phase 2).

Rainscapes Rewards

Provides rebates up to $10,000 for commercial property owners installing rain gardens and conservation landscaping, planting trees and implementing other projects that help control storm water pollution. Property owners are also eligible for on-going credits against their Water Quality Protection Charge.
