Senior Business Attraction Specialist

Connor MacKenzie joins the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation as a Senior Business Attraction Specialist, responsible for attracting new businesses in key industries to Montgomery County.

Connor most recently worked at DAI, a Bethesda based international economic development consultancy. During his tenure, he supported DAI’s commercial and federal clients in designing and implementing socio-economic projects around the world. Specializing in innovative industries and local economic development, his experience includes promoting innovation ecosystems throughout Southeast Asia and advising Fortune 100 energy companies on ways to utilize local businesses in their supply chains. Additionally, Connor spent time at the Meridian International Center in Washington, D.C., designing immersive exchange programs for international professionals in Washington D.C. and Montgomery County. Connor’s economic development career began as a Peace Corps volunteer in rural Fiji.

Connor holds a Master of Arts degree in International Relations from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and International Affairs from Wake Forest University. When he’s not working, Connor enjoys hiking throughout the county and visiting one of the many local breweries with his wife Meaghan and their Rhodesian Ridgeback Sunny.
