Making Connections and Promoting New Collaborations

MCEDC facilitated meetings on September 25 between our state and County public officials and a group of our local businesses. State partners, including Secretary of Information Technology, Michael G. Leahy, met with some of our local businesses to create new partnerships and networks.

Infosys Public Services

Spiros connected Secretary Leahy and his colleagues to Infosys Public Services, a major state employer and global leader that has a corporate headquarters and delivery center in Rockville.  These connections help further conversations about how InfoSys – and other Montgomery County companies – can strengthen their ties and business services to the state.

Rockville Innovation Center, part of the BioHealth Innovation Network

Secretary Leahy also connected with many companies at the Rockville Innovation Center (RIC), an outstanding incubator with Class A office space. RIC provides companies access to a variety of resources: shared office space, market research databases, mentoring and networking opportunities. Secretary Leahy and his colleagues met directly with BioHealth Innovation Network employees and RIC resident companies, including the following:

  • Cyber space: Inky

  • Probiotic Drug delivery: ExeGi Pharma

  • Staffing Company working on Telehealth platform: Healable

  • Pharma: Reveragen BioPharma

  • Health IT: Carradora Health

  • Imaging Device: fNIR

  • Public Health Information: Athena Infonomics

  • LabCorp partnership M3 Information

  • EdTech: Speak Agent

The meetings created a great opportunity for interaction and gaining knowledge on both sides – creating future prospects for business collaboration. Secretary Leahy provided updates and insights about important state initiatives that affect local businesses.
