Local Venues

The Gaithersburg Arts Barn was originally built in 1900 and renovated in 2003. It now houses artist studios, galleries, museum shop, and a 99-seat theater. Or try the Kentlands Mansion, circa 1900, available for art exhibits, concerts, teas, lectures, live music, public events, private parties and meetings. Finally, the City Hall Concert Pavilion was dedicated at Olde Towne Gaithersburg Day in September 1997 and serves as a venue for outdoor concerts, movies, events, theater and other performances.

Currently, all but four of The Brookes, Russell & Walker Historic District homes remain—giving a modern glimpse into Gaithersburg’s past. The Chestnut/Meem Historic District includes early-period Victorian homes on large lots, giving this district its unique importance to the City. Gaithersburg’s newest communities incorporate traditional planning concepts of walkable villages, with distinct commercial centers and mixes of various housing types.
