Gabriella “Gabe” Ryan, Ph.D., hails from California, where she began her life sciences career with a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. She then moved to the East Coast to pursue graduate studies in Cellular Biology at the University of Maryland.
Gabe’s extensive post-graduate experience includes a research associateship at Washington University School of Medicine and a fellowship at the National Human Genome Institute at NIH. In the private sector, she excelled as a bioinformatics sales consultant in Bethesda and held key roles at Invitrogen Life Technologies in Frederick, Maryland. At CSRA (now General Dynamics) in Rockville, Gabe managed a resequencing and genotyping service for the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute at NIH, collaborating with biomedical institutions’ Oversight and Steering committees.
Most recently, Gabe led precision medicine and workforce development initiatives for a professional medical society, serving as a liaison for multinational task forces, committees, and working groups from clinical and basic academia, government, and industry.
On a personal note, Gabe resides in Montgomery County with her family and pets. She is actively engaged in Spanish language studies and various volunteer activities.
